Quick answer

To convert HEIC to JPG, choose your HEIC files above and tap Download next to each result. The conversion runs in your browser, so nothing is uploaded and there's no limit on how many files you convert.

How to convert HEIC to JPG

  1. Choose or drop your HEIC files above. You can select many at once.
  2. Each file converts straight away and shows its new size.
  3. Tap Download next to each one.

Why convert HEIC to JPG

iPhones save photos as HEIC by default. It's an efficient format, but many Android phones, Windows PCs, websites and forms can't open it. When an iPhone user sends you photos as files, or you copy them from an old iPhone, converting to JPG makes them open everywhere.

HEIC photos are decoded on your device by a small open-source decoder that this page loads, so the photo itself still never leaves your phone.

Keep them locked, offline

Sealcloak encrypts your photos, videos and files on your phone. No account, no cloud, no internet permission.

Private by design

The tool runs entirely inside this browser tab. Your photo is opened, edited and saved on your own device, and it is never sent to a server, so there is nothing for anyone to keep, scan or leak. No account, no watermark and no limit on how many photos you do. It even keeps working if you switch off your internet after the page has loaded.

Need a smaller file as well? Use compress image after converting.

Photos you never want anyone to see are better kept out of the gallery altogether. See how to hide photos on Android, or how Sealcloak keeps them encrypted on your phone.

Frequently asked questions

Will converting HEIC to JPG lose quality?

JPG uses high-quality compression (92%), so the difference is invisible in normal viewing. Converting can't add back detail that the original file didn't have.

Can I convert many files at once?

Yes. Choose or drop as many files as you like. Each converts on your device and gets its own download button.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes. It works in Chrome, Samsung Internet, Firefox and Safari on Android, iPhone, tablets and computers.

Are my files uploaded?

No. The conversion happens in your browser on your own device, and your files are never sent to any server.

Why can't my Android phone open HEIC photos?

Some Android phones and many apps don't support HEIC, the format iPhones use by default. Converting to JPG makes the photos open in any gallery, app or website.

How do I stop my iPhone saving HEIC?

On the iPhone, open Settings, then Camera, then Formats, and choose Most Compatible. New photos are then saved as JPG.
